Aldar Properties and Mubadala Investment Company have jointly acquired "The Link" in Masdar City for Dh654 million, expanding their real estate portfolio in Abu Dhabi. This acquisition, completed through a 2024 joint venture, adds a fully leased asset to their holdings within the sustainable development. The Link offers approximately 32,000 square meters of leasable space across five buildings and is fully occupied by tenants including Masdar and the Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.
The Link is a key component of Masdar City's integrated urban environment, featuring Grade A LEED Platinum office space, a net-zero energy headquarters, residential units, and a multi-use hall. This acquisition underscores the continued investment in Abu Dhabi's real estate sector, driven by institutional demand and investor confidence. Mubadala views the deal as aligning with its strategy of investing in sustainable infrastructure, aiming for long-term returns while supporting national climate goals.
Both Aldar and Mubadala see this acquisition as a strategic move. Aldar strengthens its investment portfolio by adding a high-quality, fully leased asset while increasing its exposure to the clean energy and technology sectors. Masdar City, as a hub for clean energy, artificial intelligence, and research, further benefits from this acquisition, supporting its role in advancing sustainable urban growth and future-focused industries.
This transaction reflects Abu Dhabi's ongoing efforts to scale investments in innovation and sustainability-linked infrastructure, contributing to economic diversification and long-term growth.
