Rental Aid for Newlyweds in Abu Dhabi

The Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development (DCD) offers rental assistance of up to Dh75,000 to newly married Emirati couples through the Emirati Family Growth Program, managed by the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority. This financial aid is renewable annually for a maximum of four years, contingent on the applicant's status for permanent housing support. To qualify, the husband must be an Emirati citizen marrying an Emirati woman, be enrolled in the Madeem program, and have a monthly income not exceeding AED 50,000. The wedding ceremony must adhere to the Madeem women’s wedding model, and the couple must complete a premarital preparation program.

To receive the assistance, applicants must also have an active application for housing benefits with the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority and not own any real estate. The rented housing unit must be located within Abu Dhabi, meet the Authority's standards, and be part of the approved property inventory. The amount of assistance varies based on the husband's monthly income, ranging from Dh30,000 to Dh75,000. Applications are submitted via the Madeem website, with preliminary approval available after completing the "Madeem Women’s Wedding" form. Final disbursement occurs after the wedding is verified to meet the required standards.

The Madeem program also provides a "Benefits and Privileges" card, offering discounts and exclusive deals through partnerships with over 30 public and private sector entities. These benefits include discounts on wedding expenses, hotels, real estate, and more. The card is issued after completing the first session of the premarital preparation program. The premarital preparation program, delivered at the Madeem Family Preparation Center, is a 13-hour program consisting of counseling and training sessions covering topics such as family formation, communication, financial management, and achieving marital happiness.
