Increased Construction Inspections Reported

Dubai Municipality reported significant progress in regulating construction activities during the first half of 2025, conducting over 25,000 field inspections, a 36% increase compared to the previous year. These inspections covered more than 18,800 buildings under construction, with a combined built-up area exceeding 36 million square meters, reflecting an 11% rise and the ongoing expansion of projects across Dubai. This highlights the Municipality's commitment to safety, quality, and sustainability, supporting Dubai's vision of becoming a smart and sustainable city.

Compliance rates reached 96% during this period, demonstrating the effectiveness of the Municipality's efforts to maintain building standards and promote sustainable urban planning. The issuance of 1,669 building completion certificates, a 30% increase from the previous year, added nearly 2 million square meters of residential, commercial, and industrial space. This included 1,484 villas, 74 multi-story buildings, and 60 industrial facilities, showcasing Dubai's growth and attractiveness as an investment hub.

The Municipality also emphasized sustainability by overseeing the use of over 1.5 million cubic meters of green concrete and recycling 16.4 million cubic meters of soil. Furthermore, 4,222 permits were issued for sand transport and supply, and over 1,126 free sand requests were approved for Emirati citizens. These initiatives are part of Dubai's broader strategy to foster an innovative and sustainable construction sector.
