Super-Tall Towers Planned in Middle East

Saudi Arabia is poised to revolutionize the global architectural landscape with the construction of not one, but two skyscrapers that will dwarf the current record holder, the Burj Khalifa. Leading the charge is the Rise Tower in Riyadh, a project aiming to reach an unprecedented 2 kilometers in height, more than doubling the Burj Khalifa's 828-meter stature. This ambitious endeavor, backed by the Public Investment Fund, is designed by Foster + Partners and will feature luxury hotels, residences, offices, and observation decks, signifying Saudi Arabia's vision for a futuristic urban hub.

Alongside the Rise Tower, the Jeddah Tower is also under construction, aiming to surpass the 1-kilometer mark and be completed by 2028. This tower, part of the Jeddah Economic City, will house luxury residences, office spaces, a hotel, and the world's highest observation deck, further solidifying Saudi Arabia's position as a leader in architectural innovation. The project is a key component of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 economic diversification plan.

In Dubai, the Burj Azizi project is also underway, with a confirmed height of 725 meters, although some reports speculate it could reach nearly 1 kilometer. This tower will feature luxury residences and a "seven-star" hotel with record-breaking amenities, including the highest hotel lobby and nightclub. The Burj Azizi is designed to be a major attraction, reinforcing Dubai's status as a prime real estate market.

These projects underscore the Middle East's commitment to pushing architectural and engineering boundaries, driven by a desire to diversify economies and attract global investment.
