New Concrete Pile Plant Launched

Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) has initiated construction of the region's first Prestressed High-Strength Concrete (PHC) Piles Factory, a Dh120 million joint venture between RAK Ports, China’s Jianhua Holdings Group, and PHC Technologies. This project signifies a significant step in the emirate's industrial growth and aligns with the ongoing development of RAK Ports' Greenfield port, boosting export and logistics capabilities. The facility, located in RAK Maritime City Free Zone, will cover 540,000 square feet and create up to 500 jobs, with anticipated annual port revenues exceeding Dh20 million.

The factory will produce large-diameter prestressed concrete piles for infrastructure projects across the GCC and the wider Middle East, catering to the increasing demand for sustainable, high-performance construction materials. RAK Ports' Saqr 2.0 port development will support the factory's export operations, with access to deep-water berths and quayside logistics. The proximity to RAK's resources, including quarries and cement plants, will enable the sourcing of up to one million metric tonnes of raw materials annually, strengthening Ras Al Khaimah's position as a regional hub for precast and building materials.

This project marks Jianhua Holdings Group's debut in the Middle East, bringing advanced Chinese manufacturing technology and low-carbon building materials to the UAE. PHC Technologies will manage production, aiming to set a new standard for regional precast manufacturing. The factory's strategic location within RAK Maritime City and its connection to Saqr 2.0 Port will facilitate efficient regional and international distribution.

The initiative stems from a 2024 MoU between Ras Al Khaimah and Guangdong Province, fostering collaboration in trade, transport, and education. With RAK's industrial sector expanding and its maritime logistics network strengthening, the factory is poised to become a key element of its sustainable manufacturing and export strategy.
