Buildings Completed in Abu Dhabi in First Half of Year

Abu Dhabi witnessed significant construction activity during the first half of 2025, with 12,309 buildings completed, according to the Department of Municipalities and Transport and the Statistics Centre, Abu Dhabi. The second quarter alone saw the finalization of 5,767 buildings, encompassing new constructions, renovations, and expansions.

The majority of completed buildings were in Abu Dhabi city, with 4,362, followed by Al Ain with 1,960, and Al Dhafra with 220. This surge in construction reflects ongoing development and investment across the emirate.

Building permits issued during the first half of the year totaled 4,994, with 2,571 issued in the second quarter. These permits covered a range of uses, including residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and public facilities.

Residential permits were the most prevalent in Q2, with 1,438 issued. Abu Dhabi city led in permit issuance with 1,891, followed by Al Ain (528) and Al Dhafra (152). The permits authorized new constructions, additions, and modifications across all three regions.
